XR Software Engineer
Calvin is a software engineer with a soft spot for building games and experiences. Having adopted VR early on, he began his journey with VR interning at HTC, building small demos for the yet to be released Vive headset. From there, he continued to work in VR both in class and out of class.
After graduating from his bachelor’s, he spent the year building a VR game with fellow co-founders where he learned the difficulties of startups and game development firsthand. He moved into his master’s the following year to learn more about cutting edge Computer Science fields, such as machine learning, computer vision, and block-chain.
Calvin has a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Cornell Tech University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Double Major in Computer Science and Game Design, from New York University. He is bilingual, speaking in both English and Cantonese.
What do you find most inspiring or powerful about VR?
The immersion that one feels when placed in a virtual world. While other mediums have immersion, in VR you internalize the experience differently since it feels like a real space.

Our Mindful Movement module (something we’re developing for Geriatric Anxiety) is amazing. I think it is one of the experiences that best exemplifies what we can do at this company.
What’s your superpower?
Loving to be in front of the computer.
