Daniel is also a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
Daniel has been one of the pioneers of the use of virtual reality to understand and treat mental health problems. Having begun working with VR in 2001, he founded and directs the University of Oxford VR lab for mental health disorders. Daniel’s research has been funded by the NHS National Institute of Health Research, the Wellcome Trust, and the UK Medical Research Council. His work is focused on developing the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders, particularly delusions and hallucinations. Daniel has worked on over 15 randomized controlled clinical trials and led the largest ever randomized controlled trial of a psychological treatment for a mental health problem. He is the author of ten books and over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles.
